One of the Foundation cornerstones is the creation and implementation of workforce development initiatives for both youth and adults, where the emphasis is on people and expanding their horizons in the business world. Workforce development is critical to the economic stability and prosperity of a town or city or region, and Wake Forest is no exception.
Job Success 101-Work Skills Training and Job Fair The Foundation is committed to helping students understand and adopt the rules of basic business behavioral etiquette, enabling them to conduct themselves professionally in today's workforce environment.
The Jobs Success 101 Seminar was in its second year and we had close to 50 participants familiarize themselves with the steps necessary to reach the interview stage, secure a job and retain it. We had local HR Executives from Open Desk, Chick-fil-A, Culver's, the Town of Wake Forest, Briley College and Consulting, Wake Tech, and the Kerr Family YMCA help facilitate the program. Students also participated in a job fair and had several opportunities to gain employment from local companies. We see value in career readiness and that is why we will be adding this initiative into our Wake Forest Career Readiness Academy.
